Southern Pines, North Carolina-
My husband and I recently took a Sunday drive to Moore County, North Carolina where we found ourselves in a favorite spot in the Sandhills— Downtown Southern Pines!

This quaint, quiet and quintessential Southern town is filled with charm and treasure. It is the perfect place to have a lovely outing with your someone special.
If you are new to the Sandhills region or are just looking for a fun day trip, this is a great place to visit!

Places to eat in Downtown Southern Pines

1. Betsy’s Crepes— is a local’s favorite; a wildly bohemian and cozy-cool restaurant famous for its delicious French crepes served fresh daily. Colorful art dons the restaurant walls along with the sound of laughter, happy chatter and clinking dinnerware from delighted guests sets the tone for a super chill vibe that will make your taste buds thank you. I highly recommend you try one of the Savory Crepe dishes paired with a side salad served with apple vinegarette.

2. Following lunch take a walk down Broad Street to The Ice Cream Parlor for a cool treat— perfect for sweltering late summer days. Who doesn’t love ice cream?
The Ice Cream Parlor also has a tasty lunch menu, in case you are looking for a quick bite to eat followed by something sweet.
My husband and I enjoyed root beer floats— which hit the spot— while taking in the sights of Downtown Southern Pines from a comfy bench in a coveted (and much appreciated) shaded courtyard just steps away from the parlor.

What to do in Downtown Southern Pines:
1. Take a stroll through the shaded streets and nearby park to gaze at all of the beautiful nature and lovely homes.
The sidewalks are filled with gorgeous blooming flower pots sure to bring a smile to your face. Not to mention, there are so many cute nuisances and lovely historical architecture.
Also checkout the adorable Southern Pines Rock Garden filled with hand-painted rocks— spreading love and cheer to all who pass.
2. Make sure to visit the lovely shops including: The Country Bookshop (for the book lovers), Monkee’s Boutique (for all the fashionistas out there), and drool over handmade bags and purses at R. Riveter— a class act military spouse owned and operated retailer that has gained national attention.
