On March 15, 2020, as COVID-19 quickly became a reality for parents, Deanna Anderson started a Facebook Group, Moms Making it Together, for moms to share, support and smile through the “new normal” caused by the worldwide pandemic. The group quickly picked up speed and has grown to 10,000 members across the United States. To reach more moms, Mom’s Making it Together spawned a blog and Instagram Page.
The Moms Making It Together community is a place where Deanna utilizes her years of experience in the marketing field, volunteerism and life experience as a mother to help others.
About Mom’s Making It Together Founder Deanna Anderson:
Deanna is the Managing Director of 705 Marketing, which specializes in brand development, social media and PR for consumer, nonprofit, technology, and financial services clients. Combining Deanna’s experience managing global campaigns for Fortune 500 companies including Philips Electronics with her love of working with startups and nonprofits, the agency builds and executes world-class communication programs. Nonprofit client experience includes GAgives, Georgia Center for Nonprofits, Literacy Action, TechBridge, Georgia Heirs Property Law Center, The Atlanta Speech School and Families First.
Founded 14 years ago, 705 Marketing is a virtual agency with a network of industry experts to deliver the best team with the right experience to every project. Deanna’s dad is a second-generation entrepreneur and instilled in her and her siblings a great work ethic and the power to create your own future. Combined with the influence of her mom being the rock of her family and her involvement in both the community and lives of her children, being an entrepreneur felt like the ideal choice to do the most for Deanna’s clients, her family and the community.
Deanna is a dedicated advocate for Atlanta’s women and children. When a diagnosis of a learning difference came for her son, Carter, and several years later for her daughter, Reese, this work became even more personal. Deanna advocated on behalf of her children, later resulting in both a knowledge base and passion for clients like Literacy Action and the early childhood learning efforts within the Junior League of Atlanta, as well as leadership roles at her son’s school The Howard School including serving as the current president of The Howard School Parents Association. Deanna is also involved at her daughter’s school Mount Vernon School where she has served as a parent ambassador and Girl Scout Troop leader. Her favorite reading memory with both kids is reading the entire Harry Potter series with Carter and currently reading it again with Reese.
Her community involvement has provided the opportunity for her to serve in a variety of roles in the Atlanta community, including president of the Junior League of Atlanta in its 100th year of service, Leadership Atlanta class of 2018 and as a past board member for the Atlanta Speech School and the Atlanta Children’s Shelter. She is currently a coach for Girls on the Run and has enjoyed working with GOTR on executing its curriculum virtually. She is an alum of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta’s annual Camp CEO and past Steering Committee Member for Atlanta Women’s Build for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. In addition, she is a committee member for Georgia CASA’s, CASA on the Catwalk, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s annual Fall for Fashion. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She resides in Dunwoody with her husband Jim, children Carter and Reese and Australian Labradoodles, Peri and Scout.
