Celebrity for a Day: My Debut WRAL News Interview

So, I did a thing today.

I lived out my childhood dream of being a television celebrity. It was three whole minutes of wonderful stardom.

WRAL FOX50 allowed me the opportunity to be interviewed on its morning program!

A big thanks to WRAL Producer Jamie Thomas for being so kind, and allowing me to be live on air— and to act like a big movie star for a brief moment in time.

I got to chat about Mommy’s Big, Red Monster Truck with the beautiful and talented Mikaya Thurmond who was so kind and professional.

Driving from my home in Fayetteville, NC to the Capitol city of Raleigh, NC to visit the gorgeous Capitol Broadcasting Building (home of WRAL), and getting to see all the behind the scenes cameras 🎥 lights💡 and action was very exciting.

I was so excited in fact that I didn’t even flinch when I hit Raleigh’s infamous morning rush traffic!

Nope— I was happy as a lark to have the chance to talk about my “favorite” book!

The book that made me an author.

The book that has opened so many wonderful doors to me since its publication last November.

The book making all of my wildest dreams come true.

I am so proud of how far my little book and I have come. We’ve been driving all types of terrain toward our dreams for the past year. One heck of a joy ride it has been, I tell you!

I would not trade it for the world.

If you’d asked me ten years ago what I’d be doing now, I would not have thought I’d be marketing my children’s book… especially one about monster trucks. It was all just a fleeting thought then.

I owe my son Mak all the credit because without him (and his toddler years obsession with monster trucks) there would be no book. No drive in me to fight and work as hard as I have to live out my dreams.

And my husband Adam… he too has played a significant role in all this book madness. He has supported me from day one.

Thank you, Makdaddy. I’m glad you’re on this ride with me.

Not to forget my parents for always being my biggest fans. Thanks Poppy and JuJu. 😍

And of course a big thank you to all of the awesome Independent Bookstores, Elementary Schools, Libraries, and other venues that have welcomed me with open arms.

It means the world to me. Truly.
