Children’s Book Review- Fluffy and the Rainbow in his Heart by Tools of the Heart

When sadness takes over the mind, we should look for the rainbow within our heart to lead us back to our calm place. Meditation and finding your inner calm are the themes of Fluffy and the Rainbow in his Heart— book two of an endearing children’s picture book series by Tools of the Heart. Mother Earth and Father Sun (from book one of the Tools of the Heart book series) begin to worry when parts of their precious garden become sad. Father Sun makes it his mission to investigate the problem and finds a very sad little squirrel named Fluffy. With love in his heart, Father Sun helps to comfort Fluffy, and teaches him about the rainbow of wisdom in his heart– and how to replace the dark clouds with joy.

Children’s Book Review- I Love My Gua by Chaka Giangrosso

Chaka Giangrosso has written a beautiful book, I Love My Gua, about the special relationship of a little girl with her grandmother whom she affectionately calls Gua. This book struck me in particular because of my son’s special relationship with my mother who is called JuJu. The importance of children building loving relationships with their grandparents is crucial in order for them to experience the unconditional love of a grandparent and wise lessons taught by them.

Children’s Book Review- Winston the Wombat Book Series by Megan Cline

Megan Cline has created an adorable series of books based around a precious Wombat personified as a little fellow named Winston who is learning how to do new things. Young children can easily become overwhelmed and frustrated when trying new things. In each book (Winston Winks, Winston's Wet and Winston Wiggles) the curious and thoughtful little wombat lead character tries hard to master each new skill with his family’s support and practice. The importance of patience and understanding is at the core of each book and a lesson that all families must master when helping little children to grow.
